Opened in 2021 inside a Victorian Polish factory that later became a brewery tap, Alder has become one of the most-loved spots in the area. The bar runs a packed weekly programme — jazz, punk, blues, folk, film club and quiz nights — and pays local bands directly for free-entry gigs. Artists keep 100% of ticket and merch sales for ticketed shows. A sunny courtyard out back makes it one of the area's best spots on a warm day.
